watched in film studies it was really good and helped me appreciate black and white films more

citizen kane, despite its acclaim, is an overrated film that falls flat in several critical areas. this movie is excruciatingly boring, it completely failed to engage anyone in the room for most of its runtime, even the biggest cinephiles. the is dense and difficult to follow, it left us feeling disconnected from the characters and plot. kinda just feels like that one guy who thinks he’s smarter than everyone but his levels of intelligence are well below average, y’know? but overall, the screenplay is poorly written, lacking the coherence and emotional depth that a film of its supposed caliber should possess. it’s a disappointing experience that doesn't live up to its legendary reputation. i can name so many films from this era that deserve the adoration this film has.

Rosebud

Really well made film, incredibly cinematic for its time even for today’s standards. Really interesting story with a very interesting outcome. I also really like the message behind how there is no real way to describe the life of a person.

I feel like it was peak cinema but I’m just too slow to get it to be honest

What I did understand I thought it as very good but I wouldn’t rewatch it, cba

But overall I think it was a little overhyped
