Citizen Kane

citizen kane, despite its acclaim, is an overrated film that falls flat in several critical areas. this movie is excruciatingly boring, it completely failed to engage anyone in the room for most of its runtime, even the biggest cinephiles. the is dense and difficult to follow, it left us feeling disconnected from the characters and plot. kinda just feels like that one guy who thinks he’s smarter than everyone but his levels of intelligence are well below average, y’know? but overall, the screenplay is poorly written, lacking the coherence and emotional depth that a film of its supposed caliber should possess. it’s a disappointing experience that doesn't live up to its legendary reputation. i can name so many films from this era that deserve the adoration this film has.

Meh

watched in film studies it was really good and helped me appreciate black and white films more

Very cool cinematography, just a little underwhelmed by the ending.

Fun watch. I can see why it's a classic. The setting and the acting are very classic and make it feel really charismatic. It's really cool to have this mystery throughout the whole movie

Classic Gem. Not for everyone. Do not watch it from today's Lens. watch it when you're in the mood to understand how movies were made.
