Asphalt City

Slow movie that shows the daily lives of two paramedics in NYC. It gives you a new EMTs on what paramedics have to do and what they go through but it never really takes off.

The reason for this rating is due to the fact that this movie had a mellow sad-like vibe to it for the entirety of it. As interesting and realistic as it was, there was no highs and lows to it. The only high to it was the last 30 minutes. I don’t blame the actors, they did well, even Mike Tyson who I can’t take seriously. It was just the script, it could’ve been better. It had substance and it was decent enough to watch, but not enough for me to be hooked to the story or for it to leave a long lasting impression.

A very very slow first hour with no character motivation or real depth beyond the harsh reality of being an EMT. The second hour plays with what the film has set up and breaks the protagonist, leading to an even more painful and unpleasant viewing experience.

For me it was inbetween meh and liking it. It’s a little dark with some action.

Quite serious show of the struggles of EMTs. I thought it was decently cinematic and liked the message. The use of sex was interesting as well.
