Army of Darkness

foo went from a supermarket worker to maximus decimus meridius

fucking terrible still better than the first tho

While feeling like a total departure from the series’ horror roots, this movie still maintains it’s signature violent slapstick comedy, but cranks up the humor. This movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, but I sometimes wished it would taken itself a bit more seriously.

been wanting to watch this for a while. I didn’t know much other than that Bruce Campbell was gonna be great in it and that the dialogue is better than ever. both were absolutely true. very, very fun time. works as a comedy but is also epic a lot of the time. it’s hard to know if something is intentionally funny or not with Raimi’s choices, which is something that I loved about Evil Dead II as well.

obviously, it’s an odd end to a horror trilogy, but I’m always glad to see sam raimi’s mind put to screen, and I can’t really be mad that we didn’t get just more ash vs deadites in a cabin for the third movie. I really don’t mind the choice

It’s basically a live-action cartoon, but part of it’s charm is the complete lack of CGI which, back then, was too expensive to do half the things they’d need it to do. 3/5

it’s quite funny and i thought some of the special effects were cool (5.7/10)
