American Psycho Reviews

it’s definitely good but tbh this movie has a rly concerning effect on my generation and has made a lot of wannabe patrick batemans.

when men like this movie: 👎👎
when women like this movie: 💗💗💅💅😍😍

i feel like maybe i just didn’t get it. when the movie ended i just stared at the black screen and said aloud “wtf did i just watch”

I really liked Christian Bale’s performance. He played the narcissistic and psychotic businessman perfectly. I also liked the ambiguous ending that this film had because whatever interpretation you had on whether it was real or not, we can all agree that Patrick Bateman is insane

I liked this movie but I feel like it’s a bit overrated. Christian Bale’s acting was amazing. I kind of thought that the plot point was going to be deeper and by the end I was kinda let down. Good film nonetheless and I found the psychological aspect very interesting. 7/10

“where are you going?!”

“i have to return some videotapes.”

rating: 💼

one star for patrick bateman being a music girlie. the rest are taken off for misogyny.

A good movie, but for sure overrated.

Misogynistic asf I went to watch this bc it’s trending on tik tok now I’m terrified of the people (men) who say “he’s just like me fr” huh?!😀

To like this movie is to be a Patrick Bateman. The film, the acting itself was nomination worthy, and the cinematography was brilliant, but it sickened me to the point of absolute silence. To think that somewhere there is a Patrick Bateman, make me fear the world in every aspect.

i used to be schizophrenic so i can relate partially (i don’t kill women)

Not enjoyable to watch but I liked the idea of it more then actually watching the film. It’s about the upper classes desensitization towards sex and violence. Everyone turned out to be American psychos when it came down to their self absorption and disconnection from reality.

There were a few times I almost busted out laughing, still a good movie lol. (P.S. don’t watch with you parent unless you want the vibe of the room to be awkward 💀)

very boring and mid. had to stop mid way i was so bored

This movie was fucked up

Disturbing. Unhinged end.
Must watch if you are christian bale fan.
Acting 9/10.
Poor sound design.
Poor set design.
Poor timed jump scares.

Incredible breakthrough role for Gavin Newsom. This inspired me to get into investment banking and be brave enough to start online dating.

8.8 - *Finally* got around to watching this for a first time, & while I really liked it, I am pretty surprised I didn’t like it more.
The cast is way more loaded with A-List names than I realized, but none other than Christian Bale give absolutely memorable performances. I laughed waaaaaay more than expected, not realizing how satirical this actually is. A ton of credit goes to Mary Harron for showing just enough restraint to keep it from going too far down that road. I also am sure I’m not the first with this take but it unfortunately took me out a couple times seeing the origin of almost countless memes & reaction gifs - they feel endless. Not sure it’s the all time classic some regard it as, but it is very well written, acted, and directed. It’s plenty of fun and a great introduction to some of the early 2000s premier names.
