WOW. I was not prepared. It managed to be so funny and heartwarming as it navigated heartbreak, loss and finding meaning in living. Lots of comedy, but it knew exactly when to be serious. Mariana Treviño was easily my favorite part, but Tom Hanks excelled as Otto. A must

i actually don’t know if i’ll ever recover from this movie. maybe it’s bc i’m ab to get my period but i couldn’t stop crying. if mariana treviño doesn’t get best supporting actress i will scream she WAS the movie. it was so heartbreaking and funny and just so much. incredible.

Predictable from the start and Hanks‘ performance feels superficial and stale. All the ‚jokes‘ in the script give off a ‚the younger generations is lazy/fragile/etc.‘ kind of vibe. Feels very much like Hanks is trying to appeal to an audience that consists of conservative boomers

Thoughtful story that a lot of people can probably relate to (even though they act all hard and tough)

I sadly was spoiled about the ending because of TikTok once so it didn’t really do me much more. At first I was like WTF Otto you’re terrible. But as the story continued I developed sympathy for him and felt pity. It was a good movie. I want to read the book rn. 4 out of 5 stars!

SO SO SO SO SO WONDERFUL. Such amazing character development and the way they were able to balance tough emotional scenes while also throwing in humor it’s just fantastic and I freaking love this movie I cried and laughed and also the trans inclusion was just chefs kiss

This might seem like the usual ‘old grumpy man who loses something precious to him learns to love life again’ story but its scenes of comedy & depression bleed into each other so well to make for a roller coaster of feelings. The way it’s written is just inherently funny while…

Read the book few months ago, so I was really scared but it didn’t disappoint. It was so good. The casting was great and it successfully kept the humorous and the serious parts. Beautiful.

Hanks is excellent and despite the film not actually having to much going on for parts of it, it manages to keep you watching and ultimately connects you with the characters, watched with @laurafletcher 8.0/10
