Apple TV hit the jackpot…again. This time with Gilligan and Seehorn, who are seemingly immune to flops and set to sweep. The concise script, concept, cinematography, acting, and laden allegories had my jaw floored. However, there are some major lapses in logic. Confusion, on exhaustion, on frustration, on satire. After covid, it's all too familiar, yet exceptionally authentic. As is the show-not-tell storytelling, though, the pacing noticeably struggles after the first few episodes. I love the visuals, locations, colours, countdown, and even wish the title sequence was longer. Season 2 can't come quickly enough. What is going on? Is she a hero? Is she a villain? I need more.

I could say so many things about this show and how everything in the show impacts each other, but I think it’s better if you figure it out for yourself. Such a cool and original idea, and the themes and plot just tie into each other so well. Cinematically such a beautiful show too, quite literally go all over the world. Vince Gilligan just doesn’t miss and I can say that with this show too. He blows my mind.

it may be my biggest flaw, i’ll admit, but a poor ending can truly ruin an entire watch for me. as stated in my S1 review, this was a brilliant story, regrettably coupled with chaotic storytelling. the insane shift from an investigative, unyielding survivor type mindset, to a wallowing-in-self-inflicted-pain, depressive widow within the MC in those last two episodes just shook me. i mean…she wasted an entire episode to come back around to where she was ep 1. she LiTeRaLlY hAd sOmEoNe tRaVeL 5,000(!) MiLes oN tHe BeLiEf sHe’D hElP hiM rEsToRe sHiT, aNd tHeN sHe jErKs hiM aRoUnD fOr a CoUpLe dAyS sO sHe cAn GeT sOmE pUsSy?!?!!!!! at least she’s funny. casting, cinematography, production was all gorgeous; however, i can’t overlook how much i felt we deviated from the main plot after episode 5. i have so many unanswered questions about the alien species/other survivors/reversing and for as long as we sat through a man traveling from paraguay to new mexico & senseless ‘fun’ between carol & zosia, i just felt we were owed more answers. but alas, we won’t get them for quite some years, as frustratingly expected. i guess im a glutton; i just wanted more. 6.8/10

It’s been a long time since a show with a completely new and gripping storyline like this came out. The mystery around these characters stays unresolved the whole way through, which really keeps the plot interesting.
The beginning pulls you in right away, and even if things feel a bit slow at times, you really get drawn into this world and grow attached to the atmosphere, even without knowing everything.

10/10 unlike other scifi things i wasnt really trying to piece it together, i was more weighing my own morals. proves that individual selfishness outweighs world peace or at least mine does... loss of individuality and culture is gut wrenching. carol was perfect main char

Great original show that plays with the ideas of socialism and utopia with an alien invasion twist. One of my favorite shows of 2025 9/10

The pacing is on the slower side, but it never feels like a drawback. Artfully crafted, taking its time to develop both the characters and the overarching story. All together this allows for a deeper sense of what the protagonist is experiencing, ultimately enriching the overall viewing experience. The actors are stellar. Camera work is cinematic. Score is tasteful.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait for season 2!

First episode was INSANELY good and then everything after was just lackluster. Few good moments throughout, but besides the cinematography and some of the acting throughout, not much to write home about.
I’m just waiting for people to come out of the woodwork shouting TIKTOK BRAIN or whatever it is nowadays even though The Shining is my second favorite film of all time and that’s how you truly do a slow burn while also keeping everything interesting AND allowing the room for a lot of questions while leaving a lot unanswered, but still leaving the viewer fulfilled 🤷🏻♂️
Not telling anyone to not watch this show, by all means I recommend watching it because everyone will have a different experience, I just needed more from it that it did not provide. Like I said, that first episode was so good and it just makes me that much more sad because I was hooked instantly and then each week that passed by I just found myself feeling like this show because a chore to get through.

I spent most of the time just hating the main character. What a horrible, miserable, hateful person. The story dragged a lot, with her just complaining and being a pain in the butt human.

I liked the plot but it was slow and I expected a more shocking cliffhanger. I hope S2 will be more fast paced.

Vince Gilligan can’t miss. It’s rare to see character building like this in TV shows nowadays. I am somewhat sympathetic to complaints that it’s slow, but I’m tired of the expectation that every episode of every show needs to be edge-of-your-seat viewing. Let’s all be adults here
