Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Reviews

First off the animation is great and the art direction and character/monster designs are nice but the story makes zero sense. With this story taking place between seasons 2 and 3 makes this story meaningless since none of this has any effect on either the characters or the story as a whole. Nicki becoming part of the party makes this even more of an issue since this character at some point should have been mentioned in a post season 3 stranger things episode. The monster they fight also still being a huge threat also makes this point an issue to the story as a whole. The final battle is cool but it once again shows how useless Eleven is in season 5 with the feats she pulls off in this show. My last gripe is some of the characters act completely different from the main show to the point where it makes them feel like completely different characters. This show would have worked way better imo as an anthology series set in this universe that way you can tell these stories while not effecting the main shows story. The writing is fine for the most part but is very clearly geared towards a younger audience with the amount of “Well that just happened” kind of jokes which was an issue with season 5 as well. Overall the season was enjoyable but has some story and writing issues.

January 1985. I was grocery shopping and got to the final aisle I needed to go through before being able to pay and leave… frozen section.

“Frozen”, Like Elsa I’ve tried to let it go, but I can’t. I took 3 boxes of eggos and before I knew it, That bald twat had my neck snapped 🤬

It felt like the first seasons of the original series. It kept me glued to the screen. It was very good 👌

Purple swag

Miss u so much El..
Aylar sonra Eleven'ı tekrar izlemek iyi hissettirdi, olmasaydı sonumuz böyle küçük büyücü:(

BAD BOO BAD

It was decent almost wished it wasn’t animated but love it regardless!

I liked Stranger Things. The 1980s setting gave it a really cool vibe, and the mix of mystery, horror, and adventure kept me interested. The characters were fun to follow, and it was an enjoyable series overall.

I couldn’t get into it. I think I’m feeling Strange Things burnout. I’ll revisit in a few years and reassess.

Follow up to stranger things- good but surprised that it was made into a kids show given the original show was made for a more older audience

Ok

A very bad show that I was very invested in for some reason, do not recommend if you like stranger things 4/10

doesn’t fit into the canon of the og series, but since when were the st writers ever consistent

It’s… fine….

i honestly really liked this and how it adds onto the story of ST even though its just “tales” and honestly the last plot twist really kept me engaged

This was defenitely very different from Stranger Things itself. Id say I like this if we kinda put it apart from the original series. If we mesh everything together thennn I dont think it makes any sense. But its a good series for sure !!

The animation is very cool and the story was enjoyable but it felt a bit too long. Most of the kid voice actors sounded identical to the original cast, I was especially shocked to find out it was a different actor voicing Dustin! Overall, a fun watch!

6.5/10
