This isn't just a mafia/gangster show. It's a lesson on propaganda, mental health, physical well-being, racism, sexism, abuse, neglect, homophobia, money, sex, religion, relationships, drugs, families, war, peace, freedom, injustice and so on. Tackling the dirtiest things we all deal with no matter the age, size, colour, or creed. The production was immensely basic, which made it comfortable. The plots were adventurous, but there were too many holes. The acting and script were phenomenal. You could see the twist each actor gave. I could write about this show for decades. Although it isn't the greatest show of all time...it's in its own league. I'd recommend this show to everyone who has an interest in psychology/therapy/masculinity/politics/legendary drama.

One of, if not my favorite television series of all time. I think it’s a must-watch show.

Not necessarily bad, just overrated

David Chase's HBO crime drama follows New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) as he tries to hold together his family and his crew while seeing a therapist. It took me a couple of decades to get to it, and it earns its reputation. Gandolfini's performance is extraordinary, and the therapy sessions are woven into the main plot in a way that deepens both. My favorite stretches are the scenes between Tony and the men in his crew, where the humor and menace sit side by side.
