The Lowdown Reviews

Decent story, even better characters. Ethan Hawke is still proving his acting chops with these roles. The majority of the cast in this did a great job at keeping me locked in, and it was tough since the story takes a while to actually kick in. The very relevant political subject matter interested me more so than the murder mystery. I just wish it was more prominent throughout. Some scenes blew me away, like the dreamlike sequence at the end of episode 5, while others made me wonder why I was still watching. All in all, it's got a fun cast and funny humour. Some will enjoy it. Others probably won't.

It’s fine, I guess. Lost interest on episode 3. DNF.

Love this. Love the characters, how it was shot, well produced and a great storyline. Was well done. 8/10

Meh. At best.

perfect. genuinely perfect.

I hope they add second season

honestly such a good series the cinematography is amazing with lots of nods to well known directors etc. the main character played by Ethan hawke plays the hell out of him plus the soundtrack is top notch

Excellent!! Killer soundtrack

Used it mostly for background noise but I'm sure the story is really good.

The trailer and marketing for this show made it seem like it would have some serious Coen brothers vibes, which it never delivered upon. The whole plot was just a long, meandering road to solve a mystery that was never all that interesting or important in the first place.

Not much of a mystery, a little too quirky and nonsensical. All star cast , underutilized.

6.4/10 – A quirky noir with Ethan Hawke as Lee Raybon, a vérité journalist trawling Tulsa’s corroded power structures and dodging danger at every turn. Hawke is hilarious, and the oddball chemistry keeps things lively, but a little too quirky & slowburn to make it so entertaining

Couldn’t finish it. Not my vibe

Too much quirk through three episodes. Not for me.
