The Odyssey Reviews

The special effects aren't the best, but that's normal for the time period; even so, I loved the movie!!

The best scenes were the two scenes where Hermes appeared 🤷🏻‍♀️

Literally couldn’t take it seriously because of the bad special effects and acting. Watched it in school and the entire class was laughing at the serious scenes because they were so bad…

A good retelling of Homer's epic. Assante's Odysseus stands out. The journey is a long, exhausting adventure. Every stop feels like another obstacle between him & home, while his pride repeatedly makes things worse. The practical effects are dated, but it's enjoyable.

Let me yell at Poseidon before my sea voyage home🤦🏻‍♀️ Hermes ex machina twice. Left out the sirens and Apollos cattle. End fight with the suitors is very satisfying👌🏻

👍

the story itself is good (obv) but the movie is so shit that it comes back around to being great

“Is easy to be angry!”

This was such a huge deal at the time, for a TV movie

Watched this to prep for Nolan’s film. Actually pretty good. Hate they he cheated on his wife for years and she “had to stay pure”.

My teacher made us watch this in school after we read the book. It was okay.

Always reminds me of freshman English

7/10

lwk fire

we had to watch this in english class. not the best, not the worst. wouldn’t watch it again but it could’ve been worse

What a great movie 10/10 👏👏

Watched it at school. Wasn’t THAT bad. I just hated how he cheated on her MULTIPLE times and she refused to, not even once for 20 years😭

good telling of the epic tale

ela sucks this movie was good though
