The Midnight Gospel

I will never forgive Netflix for not giving this show a second season.

the show is more of a podcast which i wasn’t expecting going into it, but it’s able to pull it off. usually podcasts n such are hard for me to keep with, but the midnight gospel is able too keep my attention!!

My first try watching this I absolutely hated it. After putting away my disdain for the animation style and actually listening I realized this was like nothing I’d ever seen before. This absolutely deserves another season

A cathartic, sometimes uncomfortable psychedelic exploration of some weighty topics. Wild form. Worth watching twice.

Kind of sad I didn’t like it because I love Pendleton Ward. This show just wasn’t for me but I can see how people like it. The long rambling stoner/podcast conversations just bored me to death. The only episode I really liked was the sixth one where it was 60% an adventure type episode with fun dialogue and plot before any sort of long conversation started.

Of course, the simple yet absurd style reminded me of adventure time and Pendleton Ward’s classic creative weirdness was fun to watch.

I bawled my eyes out to the final episode even though it was boring. That type of shit allllways gets me though.
