LOTR nerds need not apply. Stories aren’t sacred. Quality and purity to the story is what’s important, not the details. The overwhelming narrative to Tolkien is that virtue is rewarded in the end, and it holds true here. RoP is a great representation of Tolkien’s philosophy.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power looks really good, like the visuals are crazy, but honestly the story is kinda slow sometimes and not always that interesting. Still, if you’re into fantasy, it’s decent to watch.

I am in love with this show. This is everything I could ask for and I simply can’t wait for season 2 to come out. It does make up its own stories at times but it’s in a way that’s fun, creative, and links it back to the Peter Jackson trilogy.

How can you go so wrong with something so incredibly expensive? $1 billion for 5 seasons is more disheartening than any of these useless storylines. The movies are far from perfect but this goes even further. Acting is repetative and the lack of big names and push on diversity is glaringly obvious. Characters are 100x more irritating than the Hobbits and the 19 simultaneous plotlines are handled like Orcs. It's the same slow conversations that cut each other off before conclusion, over and over again. The visuals and effects are amazing but 80% of it is shot in 'The Volume' and you can tell. Also, there's an overbearing amount of slow motion and an underbearing amount of common sense. Pre-existing fans will find it predictable and new ones won't understand a thing. To put it short, it's build-ups to nothing, both physically and mentally. The potential for seasons 3, 4 and 5 is there but the hope isn't.

first season was horrific but has a beautiful man called charlie vickers so i was hooked and second season was better but neither were accurate so honestly not the best

Coming from someone who has a Tolkien tattoo, this show is good. And I will always take more content.

Nice cinematography! Lord of the rings is an amazing story and this series is a perfect add on, amazing for us ring lovers. Maybe tougher to watch for people not too into the story.
