Liked Gladiator? You’ll love Rome. I have watched both seasons ~4 times. Among the best prestige series ever made. Cast is awesome, the story moves briskly, and it’s fun while being reasonably true to history. One of my top five shows ever. SPQR.

Loved this, such a realistic version of Rome, basically game of thrones with Romans shame it didn’t get more seasons. I wouldn’t expect much massive battles but the politics and characters are some of the best I’ve seen

Even with season 2 being rushed due to the cancellation I still love the show and it has a huge spot in my heart

The history part is very interesting, however half the show is just unnecessary orgies and nakedness💀

First season is incredible for history nerds. Second season paced weird because they planned to end it there. Ended up doing really well so very tragic

Pretty good

As someone who is completely infatuated with history this was the perfect show for me. I had been searching for a show that carried this amount of suspense, acting and intrigues since I finished Game of Thrones, and this show delivered. Fantstic show I wish they'd made it longer.

My Roman Empire IS the Roman Empire.

Of all the shows released over the years relating to the Roman Empire, this is my absolute favourite. I was so shocked and genuinely gutted when it prematurely come to an end!

This show overall proved to be an interesting, well written, and amazingly historically accurate show. This show clearly didn’t get enough recognition when it was originally coming out, but it was great. It has little to no action, but it has a great story and acting. 10/10 show!

Best TV show about Roman Empire. Characters are not static, they evolve, but at the same time stay close to real historical figures. As once was said. “Rome” is Sopranos in Ancient Rome
