One of my favorite documentaries. Great story about how Paul Reubens became Pee-Wee…must watch for anyone else who grew up watching him!

Only for true Reuben’s fans, imo.

As a kid I was obsessed with Pee-Wee Herman. It was nice to see the man behind the mask. The good, the bad, the difficult.

This was beautiful and heartbreaking. Despite his jokes, it’s clearly the most honest look at Paul Rueben’s life. It clarifies the way the media portrayed him because they were scared of him. It details his rise and illuminates the fuzzy line that separated Paul and PeeWee. Bring some tissues. It’s damn good.

A decent doc that reminds us how ahead of his time Pee-wee really was—bold, bizarre, and boundary-pushing. It’s a shame the scandal eclipsed the genius, but this film makes a strong case for his visionary weirdness. Worth a watch. 6.5/10

I love Pee Wee. It was interesting to learn about the development of the Playhouse and all the creative energy that went into it. Paul Rueben’s life seemed rather sad.

This is a great documentary about the rise of pee wee Herman. I got frustrated at times because he kept going into character and joking too much for me but it’s still a great watch.

A touching 2-part Documentary that examines the struggles and ambitions of a uniquely innovative nonconformist that often hid behind his wacky persona.

The Paul behind Pee-wee we get to know better before he dies

The goal of this documentary was to show us who he was, and I don’t know if they quite were able to do that. Paul was clearly a private person, & after being betrayed by the media & the public eye numerous times in his life, it is clear that even at the end he wasn’t quite ready.

Very interesting documentary and brought back a lot of memories and nostalgia from my childhood. He was a super interesting and creative guy.

2nd gen pee wee fan. this was a wonderful and really compelling peak into who paul reubens was. highly recommend for fans and non fans. well worth the watch.
