instead of claiming it to be based on a true story it should say “loosely based on a true event and heavily dramatized to feed the creators fantasies”

Ryan Murphy did a horrible job with portraying what these brothers went through. Horrible job portraying Lyle as well as Erik. If you know anything about their case, or have watched any other documentary you would agree.

This show is so inaccurate and disrespectful to not only the brothers, but many victims of sexual assault. Ryan Murphy is a seriously messed up person. If you’re thinking of watching this, don’t.

absolutely disgusting depiction of two brothers who were VICTIMS of their parents AND the system. to depict them as lovers is not only appalling but shows how uneducated on the case the directors were .

the casting, the actors were perfect. i hate that ryan murphy decided to highlight this romantic relationship between erik & lyle which wasn’t the case. excellent acting, terrible story.

Disgusting, inaccurate dramatization of an egregious miscarriage of justice. Ryan Murphy is perverse—he and Netflix learned nothing from the victim’s families who spoke out after Dahmer, and this one is even more reprehensible.

This is a long long series. These guys are certainly monsters but the SA would explain some of their hatred of their parents.

I think what Ryan Murphy was trying to do here has been entirely misinterpreted by many reviewers. This isn’t a documentary! It’s a tale that intentionally blurs the line between fact and fiction to explore the complexities of truth. The viewer sees multiple perspectives rather than a definitive one, underscoring how elusive the truth is with this particular story.

Episode 5 was shocking…even more remarkable considering it was basically a 45 minute monologue. Mad respect for Cooper Koch after that performance.

I know a trauma story hate to see Ryan Murphy coming because first Dahmer and now this. I’m sure some of this was exaggerated, but if not looking at it based off facts it was still a good heartbreaking & compelling story. The title & poster should be of the parents if we honest.

This show is absolutely disgusting shame on the creators because these poor boys went through the most vile abuse at the hands of their parents, the real “monsters” are the evil people who raped and abused their CHILDREN. This is a case of self defense, what if they were girls?

I won’t ever watch this purely because it’s an absolute disgrace to the people involved in the story it’s “based on”
A story like this should not be made into a dramatic Netflix show for entertainment. come up with your own ideas instead of glamorizing something horrible.

this show just made me mad. it is trying so hardly to make Erik and Lyle seem like the monsters, when they so so clearly are not. watch any other documentary about them and you can see that. if you want the actual facts about what happened watch anything other than this.

It portrayed them like they were actually monsters, do NOT recommend this. You are better of watching the law and order for the menendez

great actors, Cooper Koch deserves an Emmy for episode 5, but also fuck Ryan Murphy
