I’m only giving this a like because the kid actors did an amazing job.

The lens choice made for a dizzying and uncomfortable watch. I’ve read the book and seen the movies, I hate the story, it’s cruel. So, Idk why I watched this one. BRB, gonna hug my kiddos.

the cinematography was beautiful. the children actors were absolutely AMAZING with their roles. however trying to add sympathetic factors for jack really dulled the savagery of his character with this rendition. also the random “queer” plot between simon and jack was ???? idk man

I’ve read the book and seen all versions of movies multiple times, so I won’t be focusing on the story for this review. Go read the book and watch the other adaptions if you haven’t.

I couldn’t be less of a fan of the way they filmed this mini series. The children however, did a fantastic job bringing their characters to life. I loved the masks and makeup for the choir boys in the final episode. I interpreted all of the “red lens/filtered” moments as representing death. Overall, I loved being able to watch another adaptation of such an incredible book, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me because of the way they chose to film out scenes. 6/10. Would not rewatch. If you have a kid in high school that reads the book, this would probably be the best adaption for them to watch as it’s not as brutal as the movies.

I really enjoyed this adaptation of the classic book, i have enjoyed the book for many years. And they have done the book justice, specially the children done the characters justice.

The fisheye lens is a terrible choice.

Honestly was okay, but sad at the same time! Those kids did not deserve what happened to them

sorry but the camera angles are annoying tf out of me😭 — i get they’re probably trying to go some type of dizzying/distortion effect as they’re lost in a jungle, but i blink and it’s switched again

Suffered through this to see piggy get squashed by a boulder and it didn’t even happen it was a rock I’m so disappointed

Too slow. Too artsy. I don’t want to watch this for the cinematography lol it’s a story. I don’t need to be zoomed in on a kids face for 2 minutes…

Though not fully booked accurate, it provided a great perspective on the characters and the general situation and did that beautifully!!!! Colours and scenes perfectly initiated the boys decent into savagery! Jack backstory highlighted savagery/simon side highlighted tolerance

Lord of the Flies is a gripping and thought-provoking story that explores how quickly civilization can fall apart when people are left without rules. The performances are strong, the atmosphere is tense, and the themes of power, survival, and human nature.

From a cinematography and acting standpoint this is amazing.
However I hated this which I think is a testament to the show

Mesmo com um enredo completamente adulto, consigo ver uma criança me contar essa história cruamente anárquica. Ótima atuação de todos envolvidos, destaque maior para os protagonistas. A sensação de alívio como acordar depois de um pesadelo é eminente no final.
