Marvel keeps giving their new heroes higher and higher stakes, the show is only halfway out, but i’m really enjoying the themes about grief and mental health for POC, the hate this show is getting from sweaty 40 year olds who hate diversity is soooo forced.

The disrespect this show has for Ironman is unacceptable. This honestly felt like someone read the wiki on Ironman to make this show. The writing, characters and acting are laughable. A couple parts were cool callbacks but they didn’t land. The show doesn’t know what it is.

It took me near enough four months to finish only six episodes, and even then, it took every ounce of my energy to pay attention to what was going on. I love Marvel, and unfortunately, that means I want and need to watch every project they release. After watching "Wakanda Forever", I had some hope this would be decent, then I saw it... and comparing it to the first Iron Man film, you can clearly see Disney's overbearing aim of doing the exact opposite of what they once did. Regardless, my main issue is the predictable cycle of argument, reminisce, reconcile, and repeat. Alongside the forgettable casting, generic soundtrack, cheap costuming, and rehashed formula, it's no wonder why these Marvel shows have a shelf life of barely a week.

What… the fuck… do you mean… that’s the end? When is she coming back? How could they end it like that? How could they DO THAT??? TO HER??? I’m like… heart broken. Absolutely shattered. I loved this show a lot and the visuals and story and characters but that ending??? WTFFFFF?!?!

I really enjoyed this show. It’s so grounded, and real. The dialogue, the characters, every dynamic, it feels like real people. Despite the sci-fi suit and magic.

Last two eps were good, a few eps before had a good scene or two but were just meh overall tbh. The finale sets up a lot which is good (if it actually goes somewhere). Very over-hated by weird iron man fans or just racist/sexist people. It’s worth a watch if you like superheroes

They couldn’t come up with an original idea and ripped off another superhero again…

They are almost condoning all the bad things she did, crime and such… like the end justifies the means or the good outweighs the bad but it doesnt… definitely not a show for kids.

This is potentially the worst marketing job Marvel has ever done on one of their products. I saw literally NO trailers or advertisements or TV spots before watching it. I would have had no clue this show existed if I wasn’t severely terminally online. And that meant I went in with zero expectations. But, to be honest? I thought it was pretty awesome. It’s such a shame that they rushed it all out in two weeks, because there’s so much here that’s really great.

I always love when stories in the MCU have a super small-scale focus. There are so many movies and shows in the MCU that tell stories involving massive consequences or significant impact on future MCU installments. And what’s great about this show is that it actually does both super well. For the most part, it’s a show about Riri Williams trying to make a name for herself and getting too deep into a sketchy situation while dealing with a lot of grief. And all of that is fantastic - the character work is great, the relationships are really well-done, and all the performances are really believable.

But there’s also so much about this show that sets up a potential future for the MCU, and I refuse to go much further into that here. There’s a lot that can be spoiled about this show, but I highly recommend checking it out if you care about the future of Marvel. This also feels like a good time to mention that I LOVED Anthony Ramos as The Hood. He’s just such a naturally charismatic guy, and that type of personality fits so well with the sort of cult-leader role he’s playing. It’s a lot of fun.

So, unfortunately, I think this show is going to be a failure. There was no marketing, Disney pushed it all out in 2 weeks, and nobody’s really talking about it. But, if you are interested in something cool in the Marvel universe, I HIGHLY recommend this. You’re missing out.
