True to the historical record. Acting was great.

I adored this show and was gutted when it was cancelled after just 2 series. It was historically accurate and so well written (as is everything by Sally Wainwright). And I totally fell in love with Suranne Jones’ portrayal of Anne Lister!

Did she manipulate others or did she simply know what she wanted, both always and never?

Like how it was filmed with Anne breaking the 4th wall and it really explored her relationships with other characters as well

It’s a little slow, but still overall a good show.
