Castlevania: Nocturne Reviews

wowwow this was so good! This was as good as Castlevania! I’m so happy they made another series! I’m in love with the animation and style especially the action scenes * chefs kiss*🤌🏻 ALCURD IS SO ANGELIC

There’s A LOT of areas for improvement, the color saturation and animation changes being one of them. It’s G1 and G3 Monster High all over again with the drastic change in color🫠 My other big issue with this series was the overall lack of good fighting scenes, and the pacing of the first season.
For me this series didn’t really come close to the first one, since Castlevania was such a masterpiece in not only the story but the overall art style, and characters as well, it made it difficult to compete with. You had many different characters you could relate and enjoy with in the first series, whereas this series many characters fell flat and bored me. 😞
BUT to give this series the benefit of the doubt, I think my love for Castlevania created a bigger bias against this one. If I had watched Nocturne first I would’ve definitely found many things to love about this series, it being during the French Revolution, and the diving into different cultures and gods would’ve had me very excited, but because this is followed by such a dark and beautiful story that is Castlevania it’s hard not to be clouded with judgement.
Overall, I would still recommend this show to people, because you can clearly tell this is a passion project that many hard working people poured their love and time into. I have seen many terrible shows and movies that this just doesn’t deserve anything less than a like, imo. Take my criticisms with a grain of salt, and if you can try to view this as its own story away from Castlevania you may truly find yourself loving a great show, it just definitely had its flaws, but that’s okay✨

really wanted to love this, especially after how much I enjoyed the first castlevania series, but it didn’t hit the same imo.
sure it has its moments, but overall the story felt underwhelming, the characters rarely pulled me in, and i couldn’t find myself getting attached to anyone/anything happening. the newer art style + its animation felt so off compared to what I loved about the first series.
i kept waiting for it to click and it never truly did 😵‍💫

5/10 not as good as the last series very serious unlike the previous series which had a lot of humour and wit maybe it’s just the first season and there’s more to see but it just felt like a lot of world and character building

Watching the finale just hours after actually seeing an eclipse was ironically cool. Not surprised i loved this as i loved the original! Super excited for the next season! that cliffhanger was something 🔥

Yo, this has some DAMN GOOD plot twists! It’s not the same as Castlevania, but enough similarity that if you liked Castlevania then you’ll like this too. You don’t need to have watched Castlevania, but the story is richer if you have. I’m so excited; can’t wait for next season!

I feel like I liked the animation of the original show better but I liked the storylines of this one more and just the character development and what we got to see. Love how Edouard was still used in the show, loved how Maria actually dealt with her dad!! Because 100%%% deserved!

This season has the vibe of Naruto, if there were vampires. That doesn't say anything bad about this part, but this thought never left me at all. I liked this part, by the way, more than the previous one. I recommend it. Thanks to Olrox and his gay vampire story.
