Castlevania: Nocturne

❤️ wowwow this was so good! This was as good as Castlevania! I’m so happy they made another series! I’m in love with the animation and style especially the action scenes * chefs kiss*🤌🏻 ALCURD IS SO ANGELIC. I’m obsessed and in love 🫶🏻

There’s A LOT of areas for improvement, the color saturation and animation changes being one of them. It’s G1 and G3 Monster High all over again with the drastic change in color🫠 My other big issue with this series was the overall lack of good fighting scenes, and the pacing of the first season.
For me this series didn’t really come close to the first one, since Castlevania was such a masterpiece in not only the story but the overall art style, and characters as well, it made it difficult to compete with. You had many different characters you could relate and enjoy with in the first series, whereas this series many characters fell flat and bored me. 😞
BUT to give this series the benefit of the doubt, I think my love for Castlevania created a bigger bias against this one. If I had watched Nocturne first I would’ve definitely found many things to love about this series, it being during the French Revolution, and the diving into different cultures and gods would’ve had me very excited, but because this is followed by such a dark and beautiful story that is Castlevania it’s hard not to be clouded with judgement.
Overall, I would still recommend this show to people, because you can clearly tell this is a passion project that many hard working people poured their love and time into. I have seen many terrible shows and movies that this just doesn’t deserve anything less than a like, imo. Take my criticisms with a grain of salt, and if you can try to view this as its own story away from Castlevania you may truly find yourself loving a great show, it just definitely had its flaws, but that’s okay✨

Not as good as the OG Castlevania

Idk guys. Idk. I just didn’t like how different the animation was. And I also was just not able to get into the storyline. But it seems there will be a season 3 so maybe it’ll have an interesting story

really wanted to love this, especially after how much I enjoyed the first castlevania series, but it didn’t hit the same imo.
sure it has its moments, but overall the story felt underwhelming, the characters rarely pulled me in, and i couldn’t find myself getting attached to anyone/anything happening. the newer art style + its animation felt so off compared to what I loved about the first series.
i kept waiting for it to click and it never truly did 😵‍💫
