Carnival Row

First season was perfect ❤️. I can’t say that about the second one. It felt like they didn’t know what they wanted to do next whit plot or characters. I didn’t like the ending, evolution of Philo and the romance betwen Vini and Tourmalin wasn’t built at all, it just happend.

Carnival Row deserved so much more recognition than it got. The world-building is incredible, blending fantasy, mystery and politics into something that feels completely unique. I loved the atmosphere, the creature design and the way every character had their own complicated story. While it wasn’t perfect and there were moments that felt rushed, especially towards the end, I was invested from start to finish. The only part that really confused me was the ending with Vignette and Tourmaline. Their relationship becoming romantic felt quite sudden, and I think it could have benefited from more development before the finale. Even so, it’s a dark, emotional and visually stunning fantasy series that I think is hugely underrated and well worth watching.

Watched a few episodes but didn’t catch me at all. Got bored and slow, a bit hard to follow the story..not for me

a truly unparalleled visual masterpiece. swept me away from the very beginning and kept me locked in the entire time. a grimdark historical fantasy that is a true credit to the genre and complete hidden gem. love the characters and the setting and costume design. i can’t understate how beautifully crafted and macabre each scene is or how relevant and powerful the themes are, especially the allegory for colonial racism. i think i’ll enjoy it even more on a rewatch.

Dommage y’a pas la suite…
