Mayfair Witches

I was so enthused to watch this show as I am true Anne Rice fan. I have read the books more than twice. It’s hard to admit but I’m disappointed. Two VERY important characters were combined into one. Erasing almost a third of the book’s original plot.

Meh. The writers could do better with character development

This started out promising up until Lasher. He was like a predatory greasy old guy who only spoke slowly and breathlessly. It was weird and unattractive. Did not finish the series.

Don’t think I’ll continue, tried the first episode or two a while back of the second series when aired but couldn’t make sense of it as just confused me with what was happening, I did enjoy the first season, maybe I’ll try again some day.

4/5 - Mayfair witches is a weird one for me because I both thoroughly enjoy it and also thinks it could serve to have a lot of improvements. Overall the story is interesting & the characters compelling, but I feel they make some strange decisions in terms of pacing and introduction of plots that dampens the good parts a bit. I think these issues mainly come from the lack of interest in the show compared to iwtv, and so it feels a little bit neglected in comparison, but that wouldn’t stop me from recommending to people, especially if you’re a fan of the Anne rice universe :-)
