Great animation and style, but lacking in story and themes

The Great TV Rewatch

This is one of my favorite TV series of all time for a reason.

BNA is actually quite similar to Little Witch Academia. It has a banger opening and credit theme, the show somehow gets really serious only in the second half, the show even snuck in Lotte in the background, you can see where I’m going with this.

However, this show is so unique at the same time. It somehow crams an entire mystery that gets unraveled into only 12 episodes, yet it’s done gracefully. This show was also able to pull off just making the end credit theme canon as an actual song the characters have listened to before.

The final three episodes of this show are also absolute cinema. While I won’t spoil the contents in them, they give the show the best final battle I’ve ever seen, a perfect ending, and a perfect cliffhanger for the finale to pick up on. There is a reason why I gave episodes 10, 11, and 12 a rating of 10.0.

Some honorable mentions I won’t write entire paragraphs about:
The soundtrack is great
The characters are really interesting

Never in my life would I have given a furrybait show a rating this high, but I just love almost everything about it so much. Me watching this show for the first time also came around a nostalgic time for me (Fortnite Chapter 4 with my friends), which is the same exact thing as when I watched LWA for the first time. I know I might be biased by nostalgia, but this is truly a top 3 show for me.

Rating: 9.9

(PLS TRIGGER I WANT A SECOND SEASON SOOOOO BAD)

And that’s a wrap! The Great TV Rewatch hasn’t ended, but it’s going on break until late 2026 as Part II of it includes some shows I’ve recently finished, so I want to give them more time before I do a rewatch.

But there will still be daily reviews!

Up Next (for daily reviews): House, M.D.
Up Next (in late 2026): The Getaway
