The songs and characters were annoying me the whole time. Im cool with musicals as long as the songs are good.

I don’t think this is what anyone wanted from a Wonka prequel. It was barely about him…
People wanted to see where and how he learned all these amazing things, but you see none of that.
Hugh Grant was the best thing about this movie, but he’s rarely featured.

I don’t like musicals and especially not surprise musicals! 😂😂

there’s absolutely no link with charlie and the chocolate factory the history of willy wonka isn’t respected so the movie isn’t bad but the story is total bullshit. and more than that it’s a musical so don’t watch it if you’re attached to charlie and the chocolate factory.

Wonka is full of charm and Timothée Chalamet is an absolute delight here. Tbh Hugh Grant steals every scene in which he appears as a well-spoken Oompa Loompa.

One possible way of measuring whether a prequel is a good movie is whether it makes you want to revisit the old original. The new Warner Bros. film, Wonka, makes you watch not only the original but also this worthy successor, again, and again. I give it an A.

i'll start this by saying. i do not enjoy the original willy wonka movies, neither of them. but this movie was amazing. it was funny, feel good, and just really enjoyable, it was so good i'm considering rewatching the old ones.

anyone who's hating on this hates themselves. it's supposed to be a musical and it was done perfectly. bunch of amateurs 😋
