I wanted this to be great, but I ended up agreeing with Robert Ebert’s review instead. Disjointed exploitation and satire that doesn’t amount to anything in the end.

Completely mental. Very similar to True Romance and Natural Born Killers but with the addition of Nicolas Cage 🤣

No movie makes me believe in the power of love like this one.

Outside of the cast and the fucked up wizard of oz parallels this doesn’t really feel much like a David lynch movie. The story is played pretty straight and to me it was kind of boring. I never really got invested in the plot or cared about any of the characters.

honestly I found it surprisingly basic and cheesy for a Lynch movie :(

A great time watching, Laura Dern the woman you are

hilarious, whether that was intentional or not. worth it for laura dern and willem dafoe’s characters alone, with some fantastic music and absurdly chaotic moments. throw in outrageous amounts of sex and some not-so-subtle wizard of oz references and you have quite a film
