Incredible. Hit every note. Would’ve been better if people in the theater didn’t fucking clap every song. 8.7/10.

Cynthia Erivo truly is a magical being because how do you elevate a near perfect song like Defying Gravity, pay homage to the original and yet leave your undeniable mark on it.

As a huge fan of the original book, the musical, L. Frank Baum’s original, and so many of the other Oz stories, they couldn’t have done this better. As a musical, and an adaptation that took nearly 20 years to make, it was worth every second and more.

The Broadway actor playing the wicked witch has ruined this show. Treat fans horrible and make things work, you lose fans. Garbage! B.S. way to handle things. It’s not about you and your ego.

10/10 - For those who have seen the film can agree this was Wicked. The ending was spectacular (end of act 1) and full of hart. Looking forward to part 2 (act 2). Can’t wait. OSCARS here we come 🤩.

I’m not really crazy about musicals, honestly, but it was watchable and catchy. Fiyero is clearly inspired by Flynn Ryder, and Ariana Grande was magnificent. It annoyed me a bit that I watched a 3-hour movie and didn’t get to see the ending since the second part has to come out.⬇️

I guess I just don’t get it

It's actually shocking how good this is, for a musical atleast. The only hope I had was Jon Chu. I don't know how he does it, but the character developments in his projects are ecstatically wicked. I don't know much about 'The Wizard of Oz', but I thought I knew what to expect. Put simply, this is more than worthy of being a prequel to the 1939 version. Casting Ariana as the 'pick-me', Erivo as the 'bold', and Goldblum as the 'enigmatic' in itself deserves recognition. Some actors and songs play out better than others by a mile, but the colours, cgi, sets, costumes, story, directing, and choreography overpower nearly everything negative I have to say.

Shit movie in total. Woke liberal leftist bs. Everybody wants to make everything and everybody gay. How about put out a brand new idea and don’t revolve it around sexuality. Nobody gaf about that, we just want an entertaining and good movie.

This movie definitely wasn’t made for me, but it’s pretty damn good

I didn’t know any of the songs or really any of the lore besides whatever was shown in the 1939 movie and the 2013 movie, I get this is more of an adaptation/retelling so the lore can vary but that was the extent of my knowledge going in

The art direction and in turn the scenery and costumes are pretty great and its a classic story that grips you up

I wont lie I could have done without the music, i’m not particularly a musical type but it wasn’t awful or bad — I just could have done without it and still enjoyed this movie and I would say even if you aren’t a musical fan this movie is still watchable/captivating

What was everyone crying for? I can’t even tell you how many videos and posts I seen with entire theaters crying, hell I even had a friend mention they cried so I was expecting some real Hachi type shit but got nothing idk I was ready to let some tears out

SO MUCH BETTER THAN I WAS EXPECTING! both cynthia & ariana KILLED their roles. knowing the backstory to how wizard of oz came about is so INTERESTING OMG. this movie makes u feel every emotion. i cried 3 times idk guys the friendship was making me emotional.

As popular as it is, I’m sorry to say I dozed off while watching this in cinema. Maybe musical is not my cup of tea or maybe the storyline is so predictable. I still enjoyed the song though.
