Incredible. Hit every note. Would’ve been better if people in the theater didn’t fucking clap every song. 8.7/10.

Cynthia Erivo truly is a magical being because how do you elevate a near perfect song like Defying Gravity, pay homage to the original and yet leave your undeniable mark on it.

I was about to put dislike, but because of all the iconic scenes and music I had to bring it up a notch. It could’ve been a good movie if I was into musicals but it just bored me and I watched it only because it was hyped up I won’t be watching the second movie.

the music was really impressive especially the vocals and i thought the story and thematic elements were actually super strong - the dialogue was just ok and i didn’t love the acting but a lot worked for me in this movie
