Borderline dislike. It starts off with some great characters, quick wit, and fairly original but lore-worthy concepts. Then it quickly becomes repetitive, annoying, loud, and painstakingly boring. Even with its few laughs it takes decades to build any story or reason, maybe if I were from New Zealand I'd enjoy it but, I ended up switching. I think it somehow got 20 minutes in before completely giving up.

I’m glad I watched the show first. The show is amazing. The movie is stupid as hell. I wouldn’t have watched the show if I saw this first so there is thankfully that happened. Humor is so dry and boring. Nadja and Colin good contrast on the show. This is a sausage fest.

Rewatched it after years and it still holds up as one of the most hilarious comedy movies

this film is as funny as it is insanely smart, another superb project from indie legend taika waititi. the characters are all unique and have their time to shine, while the effects and editing are simply amazing and elevate the experience that much more. very rewatchable

Perfect mockumentary or whatever. Up there with the greats like best in show and popstar: never stop never stopping. Such a good story and I had such a fun time!

I think I liked it, some funny bits but I watched this because a TikTok said the guy Stu wasn’t aware that he was in the movie IMPOSSIBLE he was one of the main guys, for that … 6.5/10

Not what I was expecting in the slightest, in the best way possible. What We Do In The Shadows is a prime time example of the gold standard of mockumentarys, it’s funny, it’s scary at times, and it’s everything Blair Witch wishes it was.

1st Act 9.1/10 (Great setups, makes you love the characters straight from the get go and not to mention it brings in the one and only Stu.)

2nd Act 9.5/10 (NOOOOO MY SWEET SWEET PETYR.)

3rd Act 9.3/10 (The whole werwolf scene was genuinely better than anything I’ve ever seen in a found footage movie.)

Plot 9.4/10 (Wafer thin, Filled with substance, like a cream-pied Kit Kat.)

Soundtrack/Score 8.5/10 (Did its job well, but didn’t fully amaze me.)

Acting 8.9/10 (Amazing from everyone involved, though wooden from everyone not in the main crew.)

Pacing 9.4/10 (Keeps you entertained with actually funny jokes for the entire runtime.)

Cinematography 9.2/10 (Loved the city shots and the whole Catherine waiting shots.)

Character Development 9.5/10 (The fact I wanted to go and watch all the spin offs related to these characters because I loved them so much, especially my goats Deacon and Stu.)

Writing 10/10 (Not one joke doesn’t land the whole fucking time.)

Ending 9.3/10 (Felt like it could have ended multiple times, but still, amazing with the one we got.)

Direction 9.3/10 (Loved the cuts, this is definitely Taika Waititi best film.)
