get me out of this fuck ass theater and away from that freaky ass lady

Unfortunately I missed the first 10 minutes because my friend doesn’t know what being on time is🥀💔 but I LOVED what I got to see! Huge fan of the way they shot this movie. The ending was lowkey hilarious but also terrifying. A bad wig is always at the scene of a crime

- i wish Gladys had more backstory. like why is she sick, how *explicit* is she benefiting from the possession. why is gladys here
- ending felt empty
- matthew being a bully disconnected me from the story, if he was alex’s friend i would’ve cared more
- characters felt shallow

Felt like the end climax wasn’t the payoff I was looking for but I loved the ride.

Weird, wonderful, and wasted. Weapons uses the "this is a true story" line when it really shouldn't. It's difficult not to spoil, so all I'll say is it reminded me of "Sinners" in more ways than just weaving together a fictional story with various real-life narratives. Either I need a serious amount of time to understand…or it's just overly complicated. The camerawork, casting, score, script, humour, and horror elements all work wonderfully in scarring mental images in my mind. What doesn't seem to work is the direction, pacing, runtime, story, ending, and overall cohesiveness. I'm sure individual scenes make sense, but as a whole, it feels like I'm still missing half a film.

One of the craziest plots I've seen in a while. Might be my favorite movie of 2025 so far. Madigan is unrecognizable in this.

I’ve not been to a horror movie screening with the cinema laughing and talking during it as a collective cause of how shit it is since barbarian and people loved that movie too. what a beautiful mystery, thriller, horror story. acting, cinematography, differing POVs, — phenomenal all around. a genuine weaponizing children cautionary tale; gorgeously metaphoricized. gave my entire body chills every 20 mins. great ending. wish we got a little more background on that cunt gladys. 8.7/10

9.1 - Second viewing sadly didn’t add as much as I hoped. But did move it up still!

This is a very, very, very good movie that’s missing probably one (?) thing (or needs to remove something?) to make it great. I’m not 100% certain what that thing is, but I think it’s a level of clarity.

I’ve seen so many interpretations and so many arguments. Most make sense. Grief is clearly central. How small communities witch hunt and frequently target the wrong people and problems is a good one. Ties to addiction, alcoholism, and school violence and how they break apart families and communities is a great one. Cregger has given some of his meanings, and I think has also said not everything has meaning, some of it was just cool or scary or weird enough to include.

I think all of that is great and love ambiguity and personalization in stories, especially in horror because it can deepen the emotions in the audience so much.

But I think with this movie there’s maybe just one or two too many things going on and one or two too many interpretations out there and it’s feeling like there’s a want for every piece of this to be bigger and deeper than it is, and that just isn’t clicking for me.

I still love it. I still want Cregger to keep doing bigger and bigger projects. It’s a fun time. It’s funny and tense and unsettling. I just hoped for a little more *something* to put it in that S-tier.

8/10 some plot holes but hella good overall, film was amazing and zeke was even touched and he hates scary movies

i was surprised at how invested i got into all of the characters, the mystery was revealed in such an interesting way that had me on the edge of my seat to be rewarded with thrilling disturbing imagery
doesn’t waste time and just gives you a really solid and satisfying story

WOW I loved this way more than I expected to. I saw a lot of mixed reactions and I don't think ive seen even 15 horror films so I didn't know what to expect whatsoever.

Overall the film is balanced very well. Great mix of comedy, horror, suspense, etc. Very entertaining as well, I was so captivated the entire time. Great acting all around too

Yeah this movie definitely exceeded my expectations. Didn’t expect it to be this damn good. This movie has it all. An amazing written story, disturbing body horror, extremely-violent gore, comedy, unexpected jump-scares, an eerie soundtrack, SMOOTH CINEMATOGRAPHY, JULIA GARDNER!!!!!! Acting was amazing too. Felt like everyone in this movie had a role to play and each all nailed it down. Throughout the individual scenes and perspectives each character provided, they all had a time to shine, which all played key roles to the story. Especially the antagonist, she is now the reason why I am now looking at old ladies differently. Really enjoyed the different perspectives that were added to this film, definitely made the story telling more engagingly. Absolutely loved the way this part was handled. Going back and forth from present and past through each character. I wondered why since I had so many questions beforehand but when these perspectives kept changing and the story kept going deeper and deeper, it was all answered, everything connected together. The journey about what was going on in the city was definitely SO PEAK STORY-TELLING!!! Honestly had me locked in that entire time. Genuinely is a WTF is going in movie with a satisfying ending.

Hell yes. Finally something that feels genuine and original. Has a good mix of horror and comedy similar to Barbarian and the tension build in a few of the scenes is excellent.

Movies not “amazing” or game changing but it is a breath of fresh air in a genre that is typically copy and paste or remake central

The ending feels abrupt but it doesn’t take away from the movie, it actually gives the ending a bit of a melancholy vibe which fits for the tone of the movie

Shout out my boy Justin Long appearing again i’m in it for the Long Multiverse to continue with this director (don’t worry this isn’t a multiverse movie…I dont think at least)

One of the best horror movies I’ve seen. Easily
My favorite of the year. Go in blind and have fun with it.
