Not one of Hitch's best-directed or most technically impressive, but a very engaging story, and one of his most overtly Catholic works. Henry Fonda is immediately compelling & sympathetic.  A good example of a man suffering in a dignified manner.

Solid movie

Never had someone been thwarted at every turn harder than this protagonist. At some points it had me yelling “oh come on!” 😂 But sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.
