I blame films like "Wicked" for rejuvenating my interest in musicals. The cheap yet high-end production quality and casting gave me a little hope, but it took only the first song to cripple it all. For musical and theatre fans, I'm sure this is perfectly fine, but for me, I don't think so. Genuine question, though. Why is everything lit blue? For vibes or...?

Nah, you can’t mess with the classics, if you are going to produce a movie from a classic play you should do it with so much care, and here they don’t.

An overly ambitious adaptation of the classic Romance with poppy songs, a long runtime, and obvious sets & props that are going to be obstacles for audiences to fall in love with.

This is a little cheesy at times but some of the songs are catchy and fun! The movie gets better as it goes and I enjoyed the last half better than the first half!
