I wanted to see where Selene and Michael’s story goes next. I like this; it ramps up the monster fights but kinda loses the gothic mystery.

What Worked:
• Curran as Markus brings a terrifying, bat-winged energy I really dug.
• Diving into the first immortal Corvinus gave the franchise epic weight.
• Practical makeup for William, the original werewolf, looks genuinely scary.

The Friction:
• The romance feels flat, making emotional scenes fall short for me.
• Endless exposition dumps about bloodlines really dragged the pacing.
• They ditched the grounded city vibe for snowy, CGI-heavy action.

Verdict:
I like this. Watch for heavy monster action and deep lore. Skip if exposition dumps annoy you.

Still amazing on a second watch (I’ve probably seen it 100s of times, but a second watch that was deliberate in my late 20s). The contact lenses are so obvious though ahaha how did I not notice it before

The first one is definitely better but I still sort of enjoyed this one.

I’m not really sure how to review this I mean the werewolves were so badly made it was funny and in my opinion that just added to the early 2000s movie vibe which I wouldn’t say is necessarily a bad thing.

very enjoyable, mindless action

fun but i liked the first one more. felt much more action packed near the end but it started feeling kinda repetitive. also marcus was kinda an odd character bc his motivations were almost understandable, but then he’d act in ways i wouldn’t expect

Leans into the lore and bloodshed. The hybrid angle is cool, and Marcus is a terrifying villain. The action hits harder, and Selene’s arc grows. Definitely a fun sequel.

my love for this saga is insane, the setting literally makes me crazy, Kate beckinsale is just perfect
