Umma is unique and interesting in bringing aspects of Chinese-American folklore to cinema. Sandra Oh nails her performance and it’s refreshing to see her in this type of role. While the film manages to remain suspenseful throughout, it may leave some with much to be desired.

interesting topic but it was a bit boring, predictable & not vv scary. nonetheless, i thought the focus on breaking generational curses, overcoming trauma & reconnecting w ur culture was interesting. it worked well alongside the horror aspects of the movie

I only watched it because Christina Yang aka Sandra Oh was in it.

so disappointed. this movie is anticlimactic, boring, and its saving grace is Sandra Oh. basic story line, bad script, don’t waste your time.

Sandra Oh dabbling in Korean cinema, I’m a fan. Incredible actress who delicately navigates the push/pull of stereotypes on Asian women.

I was looking forward to this, with Sandra Oh, but I was really disappointed. It was very slow and boring at times, and when things did happen it wasn’t really a lot. Wouldn’t watch again.
