SO. FUCKING. SEXY.
my eyes had an orgasm.
visuals… absolutely spectacular. obliterates legacy with the cinematography imo. it was immersive as can be. watching this intoxicated would be so fun.
some of the best vfx i have seen this year.
of course i watched the early premiere in IMAX. there’s no better way to absorb the sound and visuals. it’s a must if you want to feel everything this sequel has to offer.
that bike chase sequence tho… watching the cop car get cut in half by a tron bike in the biggest screen possible made me hard.
also the fighter jet sequence… i was geekin
wish they didn’t tease it in the initial trailer… but i guess they had to for the hype.
sound design… so so good. felt every hit. nine inch nails did a phenomenal job on the score. unfortunately it will not surpass daft punk in legacy.
loved how eve was wearing a daft punk shirt when ares was looking through her memories. a splendid touch. made me smile.
storytelling… not so great. felt very shallow. didn’t really get immersed with the characters too. jared & greta’s performance was great, although wish we had some proper character development tbh. arturo castro is funny as fuck. bro made me giggle a few times tho haha.
it’s giving me the same feeling i had with HIM. phenomenal visuals, editing, sfx, vfx, score… but the characters and storytelling falls very far behind.
will definitely rewatch.
most definitely i’m visually satisfied, so i really did love this film. there’s no doubt about that.
may it have been better? yes of course.
overall really enjoyed it tho.

They ruined it. The plot’s trash, the music’s lost its soul—it doesn’t sound anything like the Daft Punk originals that actually mattered, music that still sticks tillthis day. Its decent at best.
And don’t even get me started on Jared Leto—the cultist pervert himself. Fifteen years. Fifteen years. For this? They took it from us. They robbed us of something that could’ve been legendary—a sequel worthy of the headlines—and now they want us to be proud of it?
I don’t get it. Why hype people up for fifteen years just to drop garbage like this?
This right here is exactly why people pirate movies. Why so many refuse to pay for cinema tickets anymore. Why streaming sites and bootlegs even exist.
This was my childhood. Now it’s just an unnecessary remake made for shits and giggles—a lifeless cash grab pretending to be a tribute.
We lost something real. They’ll never make that sequel… might as well let SoraAI give us the version we deserved.
The message of this movie is painfully clear: “Sure, you’re being watched by massive AI corporations — but don’t worry, not all AI is bad! Maybe it’ll even save the world!”
Cmon, bruh. Wake tf up. This isn’t optimism — it’s propaganda dressed up as philosophy.
The only thing this movie has going for it are the visuals — glossy, glamorous, and soulless.
It’s wearing the mask of Tron: Legacy — but underneath, it’s just corporate, soulless propaganda disguised as nostalgia.

This movie rips. I’m going to break this up into two categories.. one without spoilers and then one with. So don’t scroll down too far if you don’t want to be spoiled.
Without spoilers.
I really enjoyed the cgi in this film, especially how they used a mix of the modern and 80s look from the original. I thought the acting was fine for the most part, nothing too crazy in that aspect. But the world building and costume design was so sick. But even though the story wasn’t as deeply developed as legacy, I think purposefully limited it so they can split it off into a few more movies.
8.2/10.

Alright, alright, that post credit scene was pretty dope. A couple things I didn’t like were the lack of scenes inside of “the grid.” I feel like legacy did a way better job of putting us into this made up environment when this one was too focused on the real world and how we could use the technology for good or bad. I also can’t wrap my head around whether the bad dude felt sorry for basically killing his mother or not. I mean at first it seemed like it but then he ended up just going back into the grid, showing he cares more for the technology than anything else. Anyways, I’ll probably be rewatching it soon. Maybe in theaters.

I have a feeling this movie is going to end up exactly like Tron legacy. Flop at the box office, despised by many, but there will undoubtedly be a group of people that loves this movie despite its flaws. I am one of those people. This movie has so many issues and in lots of way you could argue it’s worse than Tron legacy. BUT here’s my counter argument: it just looks so cool. I’ve waited fifteen years for a sequel so dang it I’ll take what I can get. Action was good (too much slowmo) and the visuals were great. They tried to Hollywood-ify this script too much instead of creating something unique like the previous movie and you can tell… a lot. I thought the cliche tropes held this movie back a ton, along with some corny acting performances. Not Leto though, I thought he was actually the best of the bunch. What pains me the most is that this movie could have been so much better. There is such promise in the two tech giants storyline with one desiring to use the grid for military and ‘security’ while the other strives to make the world a better place. Much like Flynn wanted to originally (even though he went about it wrong, I think). Tron is a better movie the less dialogue it has, because when the characters do speak it’s more impactful and meaningful and this movie didn’t have that at all. Too much talking that wasn’t necessary. Overall, I’d give this movie a 7/10. And if you’re a fan of legacy, give this one a watch. You might find it enjoyable.

5/10 it’s ok, the special effect were smart and loved the classic visuals, however this story could have been rapped up in 1h felt far too long for a basic story line.

The beauty and burden of intelligence
A Tron:Ares reflection
As I left the theater after tonight’s viewing, I didn’t feel adrenaline — I felt the room fill with a wave of silence. The kind that lingers when a film leaves you with a question too vast to answer. TRON: Ares isn’t just a display of light and sound; I tend to think of it as a reflection on creation itself — what happens when the things we build begin to wonder why they were made.
One of the things I tend to notice when watching TRON: Ares — and really, the TRON saga as a whole — is how it draws us not only to search for what makes us human, but for what might drive us to be. That longing for purpose transforms what we think we understand about ourselves into a mirror reflecting our deepest ambitions and our quietest fears.
At one point in the film, it recalls a familiar line from Frankenstein: “Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful.” It isn’t defiance — it’s recognition. Without fear, there is no morality, no hesitation, no empathy — only the raw, unfiltered potential of a being who knows no limits.
The film transforms permanence into something poetic. In a world where data never dies, we begin to realize that true meaning exists only in what can be lost. Even now, Kevin Flynn’s voice still echoes through my mind as it does through the Grid: “Perfection is that it’s unknowable.” And yet, in this film, many dare to chase it — only to learn that perfection without purpose is emptiness.
Driving home, I thought about humanity’s own creation: artificial intelligence. Have we nurtured it with understanding, or merely unleashed it with pride? I want this beautiful creation to prosper with us, not beyond us — to share in our flaws, not erase them. Because TRON: Ares isn’t warning us about technology’s rise; it’s reminding us that the true test of intelligence — artificial or human — lies not in how we think, but in why we choose to.

First off, the music was AMAZING and the visuals were stunning! I didn’t read many reviews for this cause I wanted to go in blind. But the little things I’ve seen I think were wrong. This movie was good. A lot of fun with so good themes. Paid homage to the og movie as well as legacy. It was better than I expected but it wasn’t a masterpiece. Some things could’ve been done better. The story wasn’t bad and acting was decent.

PROS
The score was absolute peak 😮💨 still not better than Legacy though that is Mt. Everest peak 🔥
Jared Leto was actually really good in this.
I honestly preferred the simple story over something too complex. Seeing the AI’s progression was a unique and interesting perspective.
Greta Lee and the dude worked really well together. Plus, Jeff Bridges showing up is always awesome. He’s just such a happy dude 😅 (Wish they hadn’t spoiled him in the trailer, though; that reveal would’ve been insane).
CONS
Athena was just "meh" for me. I could see a different actress really killing that role way more than she did.
Dillinger was acted well (gave off Alien: Earth vibes), but I wish it was a different type of villain. He felt a bit too much like a typical movie bad guy.
Really wish Olivia Wilde and Sam were in this. I liked the nod at the end, but with the reception of this film, who knows how long we’ll have to wait to see them again?
FINAL THOUGHTS
This movie officially made me want/need to go back and watch the original. I loved the vintage vibe when Ares went into Flynn’s backup server. Seeing something that looked so “poor” and retro in a 2025 film felt surprisingly good.
Overall, this was much better than I thought it would be, given the amount of poor reviews that I’ve seen for it since it released. Not better than Legacy by any means, but it’s a sequel that I enjoyed.

I don't think anyone can deny that these films are technical marvels, both visually and sonically. That being said, I at least expected this to be filmed in IMAX, and as opulent as the Nine Inch Nails scoring is, it barely scratches the surface of what Daft Punk gave us. I will say though, Tron in the real world had my GPU rendering pure bliss, especially in the vehicle chase scenes. I despise how involved certain people are, but Smith, Lee, Peters, and of course Bridges were all immense. As for the story, it's better paced than Legacy. However, it's more inconsistent and simplistic, curtailing key characterisation and depth. Overall, it's an improvement, but not quite an achievement.

The visuals and the Grid are the best parts of the movie, in terms of story you already know disney did some fent, Boring story, DEA protagonist and villain, and comedic relief character was annoying af too. Music was a bit forgettable besides intro, no one cares about the twins💀

okay so the visuals are still amazing, and I loved the change of style in the original Grid where it becomes kind of polygonal, but I fear it's not as characteristic and full of personality as the previous one
however, I loved it
it's the same cool futuristic vibe as the last one
