Overrated boring caried by two performances that couldn’t bring it full circle for me

PTA Masterpiece. The milkshake scene and the scene where Daniel must repent are all time greats. I'll watch those scenes by themselves on YouTube occasionally. TWBB or No Country for Old Men?

Paul Dano is crazy in this movie

Uhhhh what’s this movie about? I mean capitalism is good soooo it can’t be about that. Lowkey might be a BetterHelp ad, like go to therapy jeez

Daniel Day Lewis’ character Daniel Plainview is amazing and complex. It shows what capitalism and greed can do to someone and how it overrides his previous affection for his son. His acting was incredible but I can’t stand Paul Dano. The movie is also a super slow burn the whole time but it does kind of pay off. I liked the effects behind the oil drilling and i’m interested in that era. Seems like a movie that would be better on second watch
