Reminded me of The Last House on the Left, except Bergman's film is more quiet with religious symbolism in it. Rape revenge films are always a tough and devastating watch, but the film explores multiple themes. The performances were excellent as well.

Wrestling with the supernatural and mundane, The Virgin Spring leaves you with more questions than answers. It’s so well shot, and incredibly written that you will leave this stunned and slightly disturbed. I know I was. 8/10
