The Sword in the Stone
A classic, low stress, and easy going Disney movie for a late summer evening. Took me a long time to get around to watching this but finally did. It’s cute and it’s interesting to see where some of the inspiration or original ideas for other Disney movies came from (e.g, the dancing pots and dishes from beauty and the beast, the fish in little mermaid). Only thing is that the plot does not have any high stakes to it so it’s not the most exciting. But like I said, it’s kinda nice to watch something more chill/laidback from Disney.

The Sword in the Stone is such an underrated Disney classic. I love watching Arthur’s journey as he learns valuable lessons about courage, wisdom and believing in himself. Merlin is one of Disney’s most entertaining mentors, bringing so much humour and magic to every scene. It’s a charming adventure that reminds us that greatness often comes from the most unexpected places.

The 2D animation looks splendid, if not up to the heights of previous Disney animated affairs. The antics of playful animals appeal to the child in all of us, while the story moves at a good pace and varies pleasantly from Arthur-ian expectations.

i don't like how modern this one is. it just deviates a lot from the original story. deviation can be really interesting but I feel like it just simplifies this movie.
