The Surrender
This was better than expected. My only complaint was the end was abrupt. Like axe to the head abrupt and where did all the money go? 🤔

The Surrender
Very good movie, but it would have been even better if it ended about 15 minutes before it actually did

This one surprised me. I am not sure what I was expecting, but this was so much better. The acting was great and there were for sure some creepy parts

The Surrender
Alright, this was good. I needed to read about it and have it explained to me after. It ended and I was confused but now that I’ve read some things, I did enjoy the film.

The Surrender
This is a hard movie to watch at times, especially if you’ve had to watch a family member slowly pass away. It’s a slow movie that can be frustrating at times, but does a great job showing how different people handle death and the grief that comes with it.

The Surrender
grabs on to you from the very first frame and doesn’t let go until the last
unsettling at times and often gross/gory but also a semi dive into grief and how it’s dealt w by different people
colby is great, score is good, creepy visuals/ideas, solid flick

The Surrender
It’s not A Dark Song, but has some similarities in ritual and idea. The rules are specific and need followed. Intentions matter. The Surrender is a journey through grief told two ways, a wife’s journey and a daughter’s. Kids know an aspect of their parents. They may not see everything and by the time they do (if ever) all those kids view memories interfere with the processing of new information. A spouse knows more. They know a side that the kids probably never saw or only briefly. Potentially this leads to conflict between the spouse and the child as they have realities of the deceased that will not align for one another. This is a journey that gains that alignment between a mother and a daughter and the deceased husband/father. It is not traditional horror, though there are a few horrific elements. It could be a lot for someone who is processing their own grief. Definitely watch. Not sure on its rewatchability, but it absolutely should be watched.
