To be honest, I did only watch for Lewis Pullman. And if you’re doing the same I’d say stop around the 1 hour mark 🥲

Some aspects of this movie were really hard to watch. Maybe because it hit so close to home. I’d be A LOT more okay with everything if she wasn’t 17 and he wasn’t 28.. But the message of this movie was perfect. The unfortunate reality of a lot of girls growing up in a church 6/10

I love Eliza Scanlan! Her performance in this was so nuanced and she portrayed her character with such fragility but with an underlying defiance. Caught myself watching this film through 2 perspectives of a teenager and as a an adult and had heavy reflections post watch.

This movie was just devastating. That poor child growing up in the church and thinking the older man son of the priest and her were in love. He manipulated her and everyone treating her like she’s the problem. What a horrible person.. Eliza Scanlen phenomenal performance 6/10

It was good. The pacing held up, visuals were sharp, and the performances felt authentic. Some scenes dragged, but overall, it left a strong impression.

While slow at times, it was really well done. To put it plainly, it’s so sad (in my eyes) so many people live this way and believe in this “god”. It’s a coming of age story but from a not as typical POV! And a true nature vs nature argument

writing, acting & plot are just incredible. this brand of shame was depicted so well- along with the easy confusion between feeling good & being good. then the whole event leading to the loss of faith, her “Father” but ultimately brings her to a path that leads her to herself😮💨
