a classic. i’ll admit it’s very slow paced but i feel like that somehow makes it even more off-putting. it all pays off during the climax tho because the stress while watching it is crazy

Controversial opinion but this movie is SO SLOW. The actors did a great job and scenery is amazing but the pacing needs some work. Would highly recommend the book over the movie, it does have its slow sections as well but I found it much more entertaining than the movie 🤷🏻

Boring

A classic, must watch

They did a fantastic job making this movie eerily unsettling. You feel that feeling almost as soon as the movie starts, and that feeling progresses more and more. It's not a typical "jumpscare" horror movie, but it is very unsettling, and I honestly love it.

The Shining might be one of the most accessible classics to new viewers of today to understand why it is, in fact, one of the greatest and most influential horror films of all time. The ending is still mind-blowing after all these years.

What a amazing movie the story the filmmaking the acting is all top tier it creeps you out in the best possible way you don’t feel it’s length you like all the characters and it’s got great long takes it’s a must watch movie a classic 9.9/10

Almost always when I watch movies that considered as “Classics” I get my expectations high just to be disappointed, same happened with this movie. I get why it’s a classic, but for me it was boring and not much of a plot, overrated in my opinion. Shelly Duvall is great though :)

For years I’ve tried so hard to like this but I just can’t get behind it. The score feels so out of place and dramatic for a movie where not much happens. Shelly Duvall was amazing obviously and was the only reason I finally finished the movie. I do see why it’s a classic but it’s just not for me.

I’d be checking out Room 237 as soon as I was offered the insult of a “cozy” living space with a curtain dividing me and my wife from a kid and his imaginary friend living in his mouth. Even with the old ghost lady in the tub.

6.0/ I personally didn’t liked the beginning of the movie, it was really slow paced and personally foreshadowed the end for me, no surprise effect what so ever. I loved the color scheme tho, but there wasn’t much horror. I also didn’t liked the acting and what’s up with the end?
