The Running Man Reviews

I'm honestly surprised by the negative reception. The runtime may run a little longer than it needs to, but I was thoroughly engaged throughout, and it may be a more restrained Edgar Wright project, but it's still one of the year's best action films. It's unfortunate it flopped too, because the (albeit large) budget was spent brilliantly. From expensive set pieces to showy action sequences to precise visual/sound effects to grand locations, the production and world-building all around were magnificent. The casting hit, the soundtrack hit, the colours hit, the humour hit, the emotion hit, and the messages really hit. To me, it's a hit, and as far as remakes go, this was needed and even exceeded its predecessor.

This movie showed how A.I. can be totally, absolutely, most definitely used against us……and I will tell you. I’m going to do something about it before it gets to that point.

Fun watch! I think I enjoyed this one as much as the original, but it’s hard to tell! I really liked the sets and the vibe the world gave off too, very grounded-futuristic!

I also liked the Arnold nod 😂 Was wondering if he’d have a cameo…

I really enjoyed the plane fight too!!

been waiting for this movie for monthsssss and the wait was worth it. so entertaining from beginning to end, the action was good but definitely could’ve been dialed up a bit more. glen was phenomenal, anger acting was on point. lee in this was sooo 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️. wish i hadn’t seen the trailer tho cause it spoiled a few scenes for me :/ the trailer was what made me wanna watch the movie tho so. highly recommend, i had a fun time watching.

It was a fun watch but I wouldn’t call it great. Definitely really fun tho especially with friends. I would survive

Edgar Wright did it again AAAAAH SO SO FUN

“Running Man” delivers pure adrenaline—non-stop chases, slick choreography, and tension that never lets up. It’s raw, chaotic, and wildly entertaining. The energy hits like a punch, and the pacing keeps you locked in from start to finish. A must-watch thrill ride.

Unfortunately this one did not live up to the original. Glen Powell did everything he could to carry this movie but the story was so shallow, it didn’t help. Way too long, too many plot holes, and uninteresting characters. 5.5/10

Definitely entertaining, with Glen Powell crushing it as always and fast paced action to keep you invested. Unfortunately, its plot veered into pretty overt messaging in the 3rd act. Overall I enjoyed it but it didn’t quite live up to my hype for it

Not good

It’s was better than I expected. I appreciated it wasn’t the exact same plot line as the original movie.

Very fun movie, I’d say I like it more than the original but tbh they feel like very different movies so it’s a bit unfair to even compare them

Think R-rated hunger games - And it really lends itself to the plot well. There are themes in this movie that are huge and need to be seen and if this helped just one person see the bigger picture it’s worth a watch!
Also Colman Domingo stole the damn show!!🙂‍↕️

A slightly different take on the classic running man movie and ver entertaining. Depth of emotions from the actors was far better than I anticipated.

Really liked it, had me fully engaged the whole movie. Plot was great and Glenn Powell does a really good job. Solid action movie

If you’re thinking this is going to be like the 1987 film, you’re absolutely mistaken! This is a truer adaptation to Stephen King’s source material. Overall I enjoyed it because I’m a King fan and a Glen Powell simp, so there was a very slim chance that I would think otherwise.

A great watch. Wild two of King’s dystopian gameshow movies came out in the same year. Says something about the shitshow our real life is. This is bleak but less bleak than Long Walk and definitely more laughs and action. Watch it!

Just a good pure fun flick.
