a stunning tragedy with such extraordinary writing and talent. each shot is so well orchestrated and beautiful. the colors are so rich and vibrant. this is one of my favorite films and a story that everyone should know!

this film walked so black swan could run

I was leaning towards a 7/10 cause when Vicky's character got the love interest, it kinda got boring. But I'll give it an extra point because I don't give a shit about ballet dancing, but the Red Shoes play was incredible, and I never thought I would say that. Plus, it's a film from 1948, and for it to look that good is insane.

when your ballet company is small but all y’all crazy (★★★★½)

once you get through the very beginning it begins to become interesting, Loved the cinematography the colors are amazing, the ballet dancing was gorgeous, i was interested in the characters as well, it intrigued me that Lermontov felt love or life got in the way of art/dance

amazing setup beautiful choreography and costumes and cinematography some of which blew me away and then the ending dropped the ball majorly for me but thats how it would be for a modern audience, back then it wouldve gone crazy

Beautiful film but unfortunately too many good reviews kinds ruined it for me. Coolest part was seeing Vicky in pants. She ate that up

beautiful costumes and sets oh my god

I laughed my ass off at how stupid the plot of this movie was. The costumes and dancing sequences were incredible. So beautiful. The only plot in this movie is men being selfish and juvenile. This is like if black swan was made by middle schoolers😭

I am ashamed that I haven’t seen this film sooner! An absolutely brilliant masterpiece!! A quintessential for any classic film lover! The visuals? Absolutely breathtaking! The story? Simply heartbreaking! The beautiful Moira Shearer really shines! 10/10!
