The Passion of Joan of Arc
This is like the absolute banger of silent movies.
The level of excellence in the camera work/lighting/background music/editing/is unbelievable, especially having been produced 100 years ago!
Not to mention the several attempts to destroy it.
Definitely top 15 best performances.

“Dear God, I accept my death gladly but do not let me suffer too long. Will I be with You tonight in Paradise?”
—100TH FILM OF THE YEAR—
An outstanding masterpiece of the silent film era, that felt a bit flippy-floppy to me, but without a doubt has some of the greatest moments across not just the genre, but the time period itself and much more.
The Passion Of Joan Of Arc has stood the test of time as an enthralling, beautifully written piece of art, that in my opinion will stand the test of time for another hundred years to come. Personally, the first two acts (55 minutes) were just good, not much too them but had its moments sure, the final act, is the earliest impeccable final act.
1st Act 8.6/10 (Good moments right off the bat I could tell I was in for a generational performance
2nd Act 8.4/10 (Less stand-outs but still I felt the progress was worth it.)
3rd Act 12/10 (THE earliest ever example to me that film can be this good, it’s exactly what a final act should be, and we’ve been trying to replicate this magic ever since.)
Plot 9.7/10 (If not for the generational performance this would dip majorly, but holy fuck is she good.)
Soundtrack/Score 9.2/10 (Actually kinda banger tracks.)
Acting 11/10 (“The eyes are the window to the soul” at full fucking throttle.”)
Pacing 8.5/10 (Much better than other silent films I’ve seen, but still, not amazing until the last 20.)
Cinematography 10/10 (Is it wrong to say the most influential of all time?)
Character Development 9.8/10 (Borderline tears for a woman who technically hasn’t spoke the whole movie, poor Joan.)
Writing 11/10 (Once again the quote speaks for itself.)
Ending 11/10 (Made the movie Ten-fold.)
Direction 10/10 (What a fucking goat, Mad love for him.)
Overall
119.2/120
The Passion Of Joan Of Arc earns itself the masterpiece title it deserves, with a incredible 9.9/10

As I write this letter tears have been coming down my eyes mostly because of what I could absorb from this amazing portrait which was directed with such delicacy and so naturally, my only wish was to make this a 3 hour work so I could've enjoyed that perfect choice of Music!!
