I want to use a quote, but there's a never-ending amount, and I can't pick my favourite. I love the way the story wraps itself around the core messages of hope and imagination, and from that alone, I know the book has certainly changed lives. The film's plot itself is messy and inconsistent, although as an adult, the gist of it is made more than clear. As much as it might seem like a kids' film, the mature will resonate that much more. I love the production, from puppetry to green screening to designs and camera tricks. Filmmaking and fantasy-wise, it's a beast. I just 'wish' it had more of a solid, engaging structure.

I'm a sucker for a good fantasy, and I did enjoy going on this adventure with Atreyu. Perhaps I'd love this more if I grew up with it.

The dark fantasy and pure whimsy this film evokes. They don’t make films like this anymore.

AHHH I LOVED IT, it was such a good experience and the plot was simple but fantastic. The visual effects were really beautiful made but in a lot of scenes it was kinda horrid, but it was made in 1984 so it’s okay.
Little spoiler: the death of the horse was awful

It wasn’t really something I could keep my focus on like I cant stare at the screen the whole time but it was a pretty good movie if u have a good attention span. It also isn’t the best quality because it’s a very old film with not so great editing lol

I thought it was okay personally, but my mom absolutely adores this movie so in my head it’s just her movie so it’s good even if it’s not my favorite

This movie was awful, my god. Plot sucked and insanely confusing. All of the creatures were creepy and only like three of them actually mattered in the storyline. So many plot holes and so confusing. Terrible.

i watched this movie as a kid and i remember it being so weird. i couldn’t tell you anything about the plot except that the kid rides a fluffy dragon in the clouds.
