Very deep - cinematic - creative physchological. There’s two ways can look at it but all will digest the same, really makes you think and grip onto what trying to say.

Like a lot of Refn’s work, this is hypnotic and captivating. Even at its slow points, the visuals are so strong, it’s hard to look away. That said, it’s thematically very messy. A movie about the evils of the fashion world and your villain is a predatory lesbian? Really?

can’t believe they wasted elle fanning, jenna malone, and keanu reeves on this. toothless movie that says nothing new with an even more hollow script. it gets lost in itself. 2010s tumblrina, suspiria wannabe, 2001 space odyssey “look at my cool shots!!” waste of time

heavy on the visuals and while they were stunning, it did leave the rest of the movie feeling empty so overall not as entertaining as i wanted it to be :/ but the color scheme slapped tho

i think that if i watched it closer to its release date it would definitely have more effect on me… the cinematography was great but i think kinda… outdated? and i didn’t like AND understand how the narration suddenly became so abstract in the middle. but ending was good, ahaha)

Starts off like a typical but intriguing movie, and about half way through divulges into a very abstract, symbolic, fever-dream experience. A little too artsy for my taste, but it was pretty cool. Characters were all wack, and some of the plot was confusing.

This is an incredibly polarizing movie. Love or hate, not really any in-between. The story is pretty out there and the acting is very drone-ish. But it’s visually stunning and deeply psychological. Similar to something like Under The Skin, but no sci-fi element to it.

goes from tense black swan-like model industry drama to absolutely bonkers halfway through. theres so many long artsy shots with no dialogue that i got jumpy every time people actually started talking again.

Beautiful but lacked depth.

I was enjoying it, the events, interesting, reminds me more of an indie film more than anything. Its a watch for the art of the film, kind of an American Horror Story vibe.

the music and colors and visuals are SO GOOD. omfg. i could snort them. but it was a bit too slow and the acting was a bit dry. otherwise a pretty good movie. very uncomfortable and disturbing (just the way i like it😋)
