i like the idea of these movies but i get bored. i’m still confused and don’t get most of it, but the one is hot so. 7/10

Indeed, if you lived the first Matrix and its mix of comic-book angst, martial arts, virtual reality, video-game punch-ups, pop philosophy, biblical subtext, romance, tragedy and pathos, then you won’t be disappointed.

had shirtless morpheus so automatically winning, the new effects were great even if they didn’t all age well, agent smith was so so freaking cute in this i loved him and neo slayed with his new fit… also persephone can hit my line anytime… i liked it even more than the first

Just watched it for the first time. It was pretty good even though some scenes were questionable

It's like, you can see the new budget in the effects, but it also feels like something's missing. I'm starting to like this franchise. (I love the Superman reference.)

In all regards a step down from the original, but there’s still a lot of wonder and pure brilliance to marvel at, even if it is scattered around a good chunk of uninteresting attempts at world building.

The main area the sequel excels at - is action, it’s brilliant and just completely impressive in every way. I even like a lot of the new characters, particularly in that of Harold Perrineau’s Link. But unfortunately. there’s a good portion of the film focused on providing “lore” to the real-world, of which by all accounts is simply dull, and diminishes how the rebels appeared in the first film - they literally have a nightclub rave?!?

Keanu continues to be Keanu, but again - I love Carrie-Anne Moss, she’s completely the heart and soul of all these films, and I really feel like the Wachowskis’ lean into that here to a great degree in the 3rd act.

I can’t fully remember the events of the final part in this trilogy, but I do remember the narrative being mainly within the real-world - where my discontents of this film lie, so will have to see how it fares a few years after my original viewing…

Honestly the least you could hope for from a sequel of this magnitude. Dazzling action and even cooler style. Yes, the acting and overall plot compared to its predecessor was more bland, but this wasn’t bad!
