Gripping & atmospheric story with excellent performances, great score, and a fascinating historical backdrop.  I'm sure I'd get even more out of it from a rewatch. A man swayed by beauty and love forced to confront his own moral shortcomings.  What a beautiful ending.

Fascinating view of what it was like to live during that period in East Berlin.

Had to watch it for school, but damn did I enjoy this. Exactly my type of movie.

Had to watch this for my A-Levels but it was the best part of the course. Super interesting storyline and a great insight into the divide in Germany at the time. Would highly recommend anyone to watch it.

Beautifully done. Plots about authoritarian regimes are so captivating and heart-wrenching. Great character development.

Very good

Following my visit to Berlin last month I decided to watch this.
Good acting. Cold War drama with espionage and such, yet it was still pretty slow moving. Might have been the subtitles.

I like it. But others might find it boring.

One of the only movies that can make me cry every time

Film war interessant, eigene Stellen aber zu sehr in die Länge gezogen

Goes to show that we can all demonstrate empathy if the conditions are right.
