The Jazz Singer
There are some things that, regardless of the quality of the story or the cinematography or the innovation (and to be clear, the sound engineering was groundbreaking for its time) and regardless of understanding the mores of the time, completely ruin a movie. Blackface is one of them.

The fact that he became a successful singer for doing blackface is so horrid, I despise this piece of shit country

The way a movie can have so much character from only say a few words is amazing. The sadness and emotion I felt at the end of this story. “Wait a minute, wait a minute. You’ve haven’t heard nothing yet.”

The one that started everything. A big drama, but the story is irrelevant what matters is the historical weight that holds for the entire cinema as we know it. And yes the world in that time, would not have seen nothing yet.

It was an interesting film that talked about generational divide. It was also a product of its time unfortunately.

I thought it was so boring that culture was so bland that it was hard to watch and it’s silent era during the black and white era it had a lot of cultural differences to it and religion politics and many more to it I was like really the family was all jerks the story line so meh.
