Maturing is realizing that this movie is definitely MCU-worthy, and Edward Norton might be the best Bruce Banner of all time.

The worst marvel movie yet. The action isn't the problem nor is the acting. The cgi was mediocre but I wouldn't have expected any better. The issue is the lifeless plot that drags out so unbelievably hard.

As a movie, it’s pretty meh.

But, as a Marvel fan, it’s cool to see how this all kicks off a lot of future characters (Dr. Sterns and General Ross) and events. Hulk is pretty hardcore in this movie which is always sick as well. Overall, glad I watched it, but I don’t plan on watching again anytime soon.

The Incredible Hulk (2008) is a movie that desperately wants to be dark, intense, and tragic, which is a bold choice for a film about a giant green rage monster whose main coping skill is destroying city infrastructure. Edward Norton spends most of the runtime looking like he hasn’t slept in six months, whispering science at people, and treating basic human emotion like it’s a hazardous chemical. Honestly? Kind of on brand.

It’s got the energy of a reboot that really needs you to take it seriously, even while Tim Roth is out here turning into what looks like a sentient spinal cord with anger issues. The action is solid, the Hulk smashing is satisfyingly chaotic, and the whole thing is better than people tend to remember but it also feels like the MCU’s most committed attempt at making “large green man throws a tantrum” feel prestige. Which is admirable, if a little ridiculous.

Not bad, not amazing, just a strangely tense, vaguely humorless monster movie awkwardly parked between more charismatic Marvel siblings. Like Bruce Banner himself, it’s mostly trying very hard not to lose control, and would probably be more fun if it did.

Totally mid, it’s upsetting this is one of the only times they have hulk show his power and it’s just a mid plot of rage bait.

the only good scenes are when bruce buys shorts and stretches them to the size of a fat woman’s ass to see if they’ll fit when he becomes hulk and the fight scenes.

Either because of actor change, or not feeling like part of the MCU - It was fine to watch yet nothing memorable. To me the actor represented a cool hero made for romance and action rather than a nerdy scientist like the new hulk does so well more so in the comic parts.

the plot was extremely repetitive and boring with the general just chasing him all around
i really enjoyed the scenes where hulk recognized betty but everything else felt pretty inconsequential
