Washington with another wonderful performance.

Really mediocre movie. One of the rare occasions where I pause something halfway, realize I don’t really want to continue watching it, then give up wanting to watch it. I’m no expert on Rubin Carter’s life, but it seems like a case of “wrong man, wrong time”.

This was one of the most inspirational stories I have ever heard. This is a true hidden gem of Denzel Washington. 9.8/10

they conveniently leave out the part where rubin cheats on his wife with his fans while he was in prison and out on bail. i understand that they want you to have a lot of sympathy for his situation but don’t act like he was an angel. he betrayed the woman that was loyal to him

Not gonna lie ts got me a little emotional. If this happened to me I would move to Canada too. Shout out Bob Dylan tho

The theme of transcendence was powerful. No matter your setting, we’re all short of perfection, the idea that we can transcend what holds us back is truly beautiful
